Church Gun Range Fellowship in Las Vegas: Faith, Focus & Fun
Some of the best church fellowship doesn't happen in a pew. This September, the Balm of Gilead Global Ministries Men's & Women's Ministry traded the sanctuary for the desert sun and spent the day together at an outdoor gun range near Las Vegas. There were laughs, first-timers, careful instruction, and the kind of bonding you only get when people learn something new side by side.
Why a Gun Range Fellowship?
Fellowship grows when we step outside our routine. Our Men's and Women's Ministries plan events that bring people together around shared experiences. Those experiences give us time to talk, encourage each other, and build real friendships beyond Sunday morning.
A day at the range did all of that. It also gave many members a chance to learn firearm safety and responsibility in a controlled, supervised setting.
"As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another." (Proverbs 27:17)
Safety First, Every Step of the Way
Safety set the tone for the whole day. Shooters on the line wore hearing protection, a range safety officer was on hand, and experienced members coached newcomers one-on-one through the basics: safe handling, stance, grip, and range commands.
For many of our members, this was their first time on a range. They left more confident and better informed about safe, responsible ownership.
Men and Women Learning Side by Side
Our men and women came together as one church family for this outing. Brothers and sisters in Christ coached and cheered for one another. Longtime shooters patiently helped beginners find their footing, and proud smiles showed up all down the line.
And yes, the faith-filled T-shirts came out too. "Lettuce Praise & Relish Him" may be the best range shirt Las Vegas has ever seen.
What Fellowship Really Looks Like
The range was just the setting. The real story was the people:
- Encouragement: Members cheered each other on, especially the first-timers.
- Mentorship: Experienced shooters invested time in teaching others.
- Connection: New friendships formed between people who rarely cross paths on Sundays.
- Joy: Look at the photos. The smiles say it all.
Moments like these strengthen the Body of Christ. When we show up for each other in the desert heat, we learn to show up for each other in the hard seasons of life too.
